The rolling competition at the 2026 Greenland National Kayaking Championships is finally complete, and this special dispatch from Nuuk is packed with record-breaking performances, Team Qajaq USA highlights, and the latest developments in the battle for Qajaq Man of the Year.

Dubside and Andrew recap an extraordinary day that saw Sinnii Tobiassen extend his lead over his brother Ujarneq with an astonishing 320-point sealskin tuilik performance, setting a new world record and adding another dramatic chapter to one of the championship’s most compelling rivalries.

The international competitors also delivered unforgettable performances. Jon David Jenssen shattered his own neoprene tuilik world record with an incredible 391-point performance, while Team Qajaq USA turned in some of its strongest results ever in Greenland, and every member of the team experienced the unique challenge of rolling in Greenland’s icy waters.

Dubside also reflects on the realities of competing with unfamiliar equipment, explains why the frigid water made rapid-fire rolling far more difficult than expected, and good-naturedly acknowledges that, this time, Kyle Wills officially outscored him.

The episode concludes with a visit to Nuuk’s Cultural Centre to watch a newly released documentary celebrating Greenland’s traditional rope gymnastics, narrated by Maligiaq Padilla, before looking ahead to the next championship event: the harpoon competition, where distance and accuracy will once again test the competitors’ mastery of traditional Inuit kayaking skills.
